Quick dress

Today is Ariana´s  Birthday the oldest of my daughters!! She´s so excited, ´cause she´s turning 4, and she was even more excited ´cause we were going to have a bday party for her at school with other 15 kids in her class.... but not any more.. since she´s got the chicken pox, she won´t be going to school for the next couple of weeks.
So I decided to make her a quick, easy and fun dress for her to wear all day long!!

My husband´s Grandmother gave Ariana this skirt, is a size 6 and she´s turning 4 so is 2 sizes bigger than what she would wear, the problem is that is not big enough to make a dress out of it... and I didn´t feel like making it smaller since grandma gave it to her...

Then I went through Ariana´s closet and found this plain and boring tshirt... I guess it was something that I got for $.50cents.

As you can see in the picture, it even has some paint stains all over... but I thought, that I could work with it...

So I sew the skirt to the top (I forgot to take pictures) right bellow the sleeve part of the tshirt.
then I cut what was left of the shirt (bellow the skirt)

So this is how the two pieces came out

Then I messured the sleeve hole (I have no idea how that´s called....)

Then I cut the sleeve, I added 4cm so the sleeve could be a bit puffy.

And then sew each sleeve together, and then to the dress

Then made the hem for the sleeves

Since the dress is not pink... probably it was not going to be one of her favorites...
So I added some pink touches...
I made a cord to tie the dress

and a couple of crochet flowers

Then put it all together, added some ruffles to the top
and here is the finished dress

and this is my sweet Ariana with chicken pox

She loves her new dress!!! and it has pink!!!
